Bridalwear

Can I store my dress in a plastic dress cover?

These are suitable for short term before the wedding, but they may allow in light and cause condensation to form. Both can fade and damage the dress and also cause mould.

How long does it take to clean my wedding dress?

We can usually clean your wedding dress in 3-4 weeks.

How often should I inspect the dress?

Have the dress checked once a year for any damage due to damp, insects, etc. Checking and moving the dress prevents any creases from becoming too permanent.

How soon should I get my dress cleaned?

Have the dress cleaned as soon as possible. This removes and food, drink or other stains which may oxidise, which may cause the stain to be harder to remove, potentially making them permanent.

We cannot work miracles, but we do endeavour to remove the stains as best as we can.

Should I get it boxed?

Have the dress preserved in a wedding dress storage box and packed in white acid-free tissue as soon as it has been cleaned. This ensures the dress is preserved and increases its longevity.

Where should I store the dress after cleaning?

Keep your dress box in a warm, dry spare room if possible.

DO NOT… Store the dress in the attic as leaking roofs or water tanks, general damp, insects birds or rodents can cause all kinds of damage.

Designer Coats

Are Canada Goose and Moncler jackets safe to dry clean?

Yes — when cleaned correctly. Luxury down jackets require specialist low-moisture cleaning, not standard high-heat dry cleaning. We use manufacturer-appropriate methods to protect the down filling, outer shell, trims, and branding.

Can you clean jackets sent by courier?

Yes. We offer a nationwide mail-order service, allowing customers across the UK to send their jacket securely for specialist cleaning and safe return.

Can you clean jackets with fur trims?

Yes. Removable fur trims are cleaned separately where possible. Natural fur is handled using specialist techniques to maintain softness and prevent damage.

Can you clean white or light-coloured down jackets?

Yes, although lighter jackets require extra care. We will always advise honestly if permanent staining is present and treat the garment accordingly.

Can you remove marks around the collar and cuffs?

Yes — this is one of the most common issues. Body oils, makeup and everyday grime are pre-treated by hand before cleaning for the best possible result.

Do you follow the manufacturer’s care instructions?

Absolutely. We assess each jacket individually, following care labels and our experience with premium brands such as Canada Goose, Moncler, Moose Knuckles, Parajumpers and similar.

How often should a down jacket be professionally cleaned?

For most wearers, once per season or once per year is ideal. Regular professional cleaning extends the life, warmth and appearance of the jacket.

Is the cleaning process eco-friendly?

Yes. Wherever suitable, we use gentler, non-toxic and low-impact cleaning methods that are safer for garments and the environment than traditional solvent-heavy processes.

Is there any risk to the jacket?

Luxury down jackets are delicate by nature. While no cleaning process is entirely risk-free, our specialist methods, inspections and experience significantly reduce risk compared with standard cleaners.

What happens if you find damage before cleaning?

We inspect every jacket on arrival. If we find tears, loose seams, worn baffles or failing trims, we’ll contact you before proceeding.

Will cleaning restore the loft and puffiness?

Yes. Professional cleaning removes oils and dirt that cause down to clump. Jackets are then carefully dried and re-lofted, restoring warmth, shape and appearance.

Will the badge, logo or branding be damaged?

No. We take extra care with embroidered badges, rubber logos and metal trims, protecting them throughout the cleaning process.

Do you reproof wax jackets after cleaning?

Yes. After cleaning, jackets can be professionally reproofed to restore water resistance and the traditional waxed finish. Reproofing is recommended once the jacket is clean and dry.

Does reproofing restore waterproofing?

Yes. Reproofing restores water resistance, improves appearance, and helps extend the life of your wax jacket when applied professionally after cleaning.

How long does wax jacket cleaning take?

Turnaround times vary depending on cleaning and reproofing requirements, but most wax jackets are completed within 7–14 days from receipt.

How often should a wax jacket be cleaned?

Most wax jackets only need cleaning every 1–2 years, or when they become heavily soiled or develop strong odours. Over-cleaning can reduce the life of the waxed fabric.

Is wax jacket cleaning suitable for older or vintage jackets?

Yes. Older and vintage wax jackets can usually be cleaned and reproofed, subject to inspection. We’ll always assess the condition first and advise accordingly.

Why shouldn’t I wash a wax jacket at home?

Home washing machines, detergents and heat can damage the wax coating, shrink the cotton, and weaken seams. Professional cleaning ensures the jacket is cleaned safely and correctly.

Will cleaning remove the wax from my jacket?

Cleaning will reduce or remove old, uneven wax, which is necessary before reproofing. This allows fresh wax to be applied evenly for the best waterproofing and appearance.
